The Enhancement of Industrial Equipment.
At the certain manufacture, in the work of any equipment there is a moment when enhancement of this equipment becomes a necessity.
It is connected with a number of reasons: equipment depreciation and its frequent breakage, integration of new advanced technologies in manufacturing, improvement of final product properties for its quality and competitive strength increase, production profitability increase, capacity increase and so on.
“MELTPACK” company offers several kinds of industrial equipment enhancement. Our experts will pick up its most appropriate variant according to the technology peculiarities and client’s equipment and requirements set to the technological operations.
The most widely speread kinds of equipment enhancement:
-installation of glueing system on the equipment, which did not have that system before.
-replacement of out-of-date glueing system and its parts;
-installation of additional glueing system.
Let’s dwell on each of the variants more elaborately:
1. Installation of glueing system on the equipment, which did not have that system before.
This installation is determined by adding of glueing operation into the general production process.
There is, for example, the production of heat-insulating roll materials. The client decided to produce this material based only on the self-glueing foundation, it means that one should apply glue on the material. In this case, the gluing systems are applied on the working lines.
2. Replacement of out-of-date glueing system and its part.
In this case, the glueing system is already there but it functions insufficiently. The production process was improved, but the glueing system remained the same. It means that replacement of it into more modern one with required functions is needed.
The glueing system at manufacture, for example, was used with roller hot-melt glue application. The client decided to replace it by a more advanced one – spray system, which produces dot application on selected pattern, not on continuous line. After installation, the system allows to increase application speed and the whole production speed respectively. Dot application can also reduce glue consumption.
3. Installation of additional glueing system.
There is a gluing system installed and its functions are fairly good. However, when the type of a glueing surface changes the present technology stops working.
The gluing system installed at manufacture, for example, bases on PVA glue. The glue of this type perfectly paste up standard surfaces, say paper and cardboard. However, the market of final products becomes more and more diverse, and there appears the necessity to glue up complicated materials, such as laminated or plastic stuff.
PVA glue works bad or does not work at all on these surfaces. The only solution here is the parallel installation of hot melt application system. This improvement allows performing customers’ orders comfortable both when pasting up standard and complicated surfaces, greatly enlarging the production opportunities.
Our experts thoroughly focus on every single case and carry out solutions according to conditions of a definite task.

In detail...
Prior to the 1970’s most manufacturer’s joints in corrugated box were either stapled or glued with a “pot and wheel” system. Since the advent of resin-based adhesives and closed, extrusion application systems, the possibility of running higher speeds with more accurate glue pattern placement became a reality. During the last 30 years, most of the systems installed were based on low-pressure adhesive system and a simple head that contacted that board, usually at an angle. The advent of faster direct-electric valves and further advances in adhesive technology have made jetting the glue from a distance away from the board a valid method for applying adhesives. Non-contact manufacturer’s joint glue application can offer advantages for corrugated converters, but also come with some downsides.
